Large abstract plumeria is an exploration of movement, balance and negative space, inspired by one of Hawaii’s most beloved flowers. The plumeria’s graceful, flowing petals appear effortlessly simple, yet capturing that feeling in bronze became one of the most technically demanding challenges of my career. Cast in over 30 individual bronze pieces, each element was carefully crafted and assembled to create a seamless form. The use of negative space allows light, shadow, and air flow to become part of the sculpture itself, casting ever-changing shadows. As light moves across the sculpture it reveals the subtle contours and shifting tones of the patina.

“Octo-Pot” grew from my fascination with one of the ocean’s most intelligent and endlessly captivating creatures. The octopus is a master of movement, and this sculpture gave me the opportunity to play with the graceful contortions of its tentacles as they wrap around the bronze pot. Cast in two separate bronze sections and meticulously welded into a seamless whole, the sculpture captures the fluid movement of the octopus. A meticulous high-polished line runs the length of each tentacle, catching the light and highlighting the sculpted pattern from every angle. The hand-applied patina adds richness and depth, enhancing the sculpture’s natural movement.
